Musician Stecia Mayanja seems to still be followed her streak of bad luck in marriage. The Golden Band singer who was set to wed, for the fourth time, this weekend will have to wait for another day as the wedding has been called off.
The singer who was beaming with excitement at her Kasiki that was held at Club Guvnor on Tuesday thought she had finally found the man of her dreams, a one Abbas Mubiru, but seems her parents won’t let her have her way.
Stecia’s parents called an emergency meeting yesterday afternoon to break the sad news to the singer. The singer’s mother Cissy Namaganda and her aunt Mary Kyeyune have blocked the wedding from going on claiming Stecia’s husband-to-be is a conman and even despises them.
“Even this one is a conman; I think Stecia is unlucky with men. But I swear if she walks with that man, we shall disown her,” Stecia’s mother threatened the singer.
“He(Abbas) came to kukyaala and brought nothing. Not even a Gomesi or a Kanzu. He also failed to keep time and kept guests waiting from 3pm until 7pm. That’s was very disrespectful,” Stecia’s auntie added.
To make matters worse, Abbas allegedly failed to contribute any finances to the wedding. We have learnt that the wedding was financed essentially by Stecia and her friends who raised all the money through contributions.
When Stecia’s parents learnt of this, the wedding’s fate was sealed. Disregarding their daughter’s emotional pain, they cancelled the wedding sending out apologies to all the invited guests for the inconveniences.
